Being a mom is a rewarding, yet challenging job, and sometimes you just long for adult interaction...Cafemom affords me that opportunity.

Cafemom is a social networking website created in 2006 designed for moms to have a place they can go to get advice, feel supported, make friends, or just relax. It’s similar to Myspace, only it’s for moms only. After all, we have to have our own place to get away and just kickback, having the opportunity to interact with some adult conversation for a change.

There have been over 35,000 groups created where you can interact with other moms just like yourself. Popular groups include pregnancy, raising boys, recipe swap, photo moms, marriage and relationships, political groups, religious groups, just to name some. If you’re looking for it, Cafemom probably has it.

I joined a year ago because the last of my four children had left the nest. Consequently I found myself being consumed with sadness and loneliness. I stumbled upon an ad that led me to Cafemom, and have been there ever since! I love all the wonderful, caring, supportive friends I’ve met. There are days I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have them to interact with. Being homebound gets old quick and you tend to get tired of talking to yourself, or children. Being a mom is a rewarding, yet challenging job, and sometimes you just long for adult interaction, Cafemom affords me that opportunity.
