Tips to Keep Your Toddler's Room Tidy

  Print E-mail

You want your children to be organized and stay safe but your kids have other things in mind. They just want to play, play, and play! If you are having a hard time keeping your child's room clean and organized, read on for some tips to help you with your goal.

Create the room to be more efficient. Make use of enough of small drawers or cabinets, where you can put your child’s belongings. Utilize anything that fits the design or budget. For toddlers, hanging their clothes on small hangers at a level they can easily reach will help them choose an outfit that looks good together.

For a toddler, choose outfits ahead of time and place them on a shelf - one for each day of the week.

For babies, group the essential things you need in one area. Put all items that you need for changing your baby on or near your changing table. Arrange baby’s bath basics together including towels and washcloths. Keep them within easy reach when you're bathing your baby. After all, you cannot leave your baby in her tub while you look for her baby shampoo.

Think about placing shelves all over your child’s room. You can put toys on them so that when your child wants to play, she can easily reach them without making a mess.

Place a limit on the toys that are used at one time. Teach your child to play with one toy at a time, putting it back before getting another. Make use of special containers for toys with several pieces, such as blocks. A good example is using old shoeboxes as a toy car garage.

For a boy's room, place a basketball hoop on top of his laundry bin. He then will not only keep his dirty clothes organized, but he can also practice some basketball moves.

Teach your children from a young age to put their toys, clothes, and laundry away in the right places It takes time before you see results but it is worth it!
